Bio

Anna took the long road to Digital Education: holding a bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, she first found herself in TV journalism pursuing a 10-year-long presenter’s career with RT. Starting with a program she hosted and edited about Russian Culture, Anna gradually built up enough stamina to present an hour-long live daily evening show that ran for 6 years. The show’s unscripted format led Anna to crave the structure and elegance of planned digital narration so she turned to content creating spanning visual design, creative writing and producing. She now heads the Education branch of RT’s Creative & Innovations department specialising in digital cross-platform storytelling.

Anna holds a BA in linguistics & cross-cultural relations from Moscow International University, has 10 years live-tv experience from 15 years in international journalism and worked as a Paris correspondent for a year (2015/16). Upon her return to Moscow she undertook a two year Fine Arts course in Russia’s leading art school, the Stroganov Academy and she continues to successfully work as a commissioned artist.

Born in the Soviet Union, Anna lived in Canberra, Australia with her parents for 5 years, contributing significantly to her bilingual skills: she speaks fluent English and Russian. Returning after the USSR imploded, the family had to reinvent themselves in a completely new country – Russia. Anna is also a mother to a three-nager, which she immensely enjoys.

Apart from extensive live-tv experience, Anna has hosted a #1917LIVE panel at the St Petersburg Cultural Forum, hosted 1-2-1 on-stage interviews with international celebrities to a live audience (where she practices some comedy) and delivered lectures to university students on Transmedia Storytelling and journalism.
